Upper West Side

A test case on how to maximise savings and deliver full utility services, on time, for one of Melbourne’s biggest apartment precincts.

About the Project

Far East Consortium is a successful international property development company, with a strong presence in Melbourne. Upper West Side is one of their latest and most ambitious project to date, spanning 2,500 apartments, a retail precinct and one acre of rooftop gardens, gyms and amenities.

The Challenge

With infrastructure and services that were required to be designed specifically for this space, the development required a comprehensive, competitive and systematic roll-out. This extensive and dynamic project involved a complete Local Energy Network & Local Telco Network from a company that had the developer know-how, logistics and facilities management skills to match.

The Solution

Active recommended a Local Energy Network & Local Telco Network solution to incorporate a purpose-built electricity distribution network and private fibre to the premises network, which allowed utilities to be purchased at wholesale rates. These savings were then passed on to the end users as well as infrastructure savings for the client. Active delivered this project on time and on budget.
